Installation of meters in individual courtyard houses is in progress

Measures in the direction of accurate accounting of the use of drinking water and sewage services, raising the payment level and ensuring the economical use of water are being continued. In this field, the metering of subscribers, especially of courtyard houses, is of great importance. Metering has been accelerated in order to ensure the implementation of the decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan on additional measures to provide consumers with water measuring devices, as well as the Action Plan on ensuring the efficient use of water resources. The Azerbaijan State Water Resources Agency is carrying out installation of water meters in courtyard houses located in Baku suburbs. More than 10,000 meters are planned to be installed by the end of this year. More than 2,000 meters were installed in a short period of time.

The analysis shows that in the areas where the meter is installed, the volume of water used in general decreases, while the volume of water sold increases, on the contrary. This ultimately leads to lower losses.

By the way, installation of meters in courtyard houses is done at the expense of state funds, and therefore no payment is required from subscribers. Citizens are asked contact the 955 Call Center if they come across illegal actions of meter installation employees.

120,000 meters were installed by "Azersu" OJSC in January-October of the current year. Currently, 89.5 percent of its subscribers are provided with a meter, the level of metering for population group subscribers is 89.3 percent, and for non-population group, it is 96.5 percent.
