Cases of illegal drinking water supply are prevented in Surakhani district

According to the Action Plan for ensuring efficient use of water resources approved by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, the State Water Resources Agency of Azerbaijan continues comprehensive measures to detect illegal drinking water lines, minimize water losses and prevent wastage.

As a result of control measures carried out in Surakhani district, cases of illegal water supply were detected in a number of facilities. The fact of illegal water lines was determined in Omur market, operating on Denizkanarı Street, Hovsan settlement. During the inspection of the facility's drinking water supply system, a case of evasion was discovered. Thus, the entrepreneur used the water line built for the subscriber of the population group without obtaining technical conditions. A similar situation regarding the illegal use of water was found in several facilities located on the same street - Oba Market and another facility which sells food. During the control measures, it was determined that the facility operating as "Gum bazari" on the Zigh highway was also using water illegally. All detected illegal connections were cut and canceled by the accident brigade involved in the area.

As the State Water Resources Agency of Azerbaijan, we once again bring to the attention of citizens that illegal and off-meter use of drinking water causes disruption of hydraulic regimes in networks, serious water losses, and deterioration of water supply to other subscribers living in those areas. To prevent such illegal situations, measures will be continued regularly, arbitrarily drawn and off-meter lines will be canceled, and law enforcement agencies will be contacted to take strict control measures against individuals and legal entities who commit these acts.
