Illegal drinking water lines were prevented in facilities and residential houses in Sabail region

In accordance with the Action Plan for ensuring efficient use of water resources approved by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, the State Water Resources Agency of Azerbaijan continues comprehensive measures to detect illegal supply of drinking water, minimize water losses and prevent wastage. As a result of control measures carried out in Sabail district, cases of illegal water supply were detected in some facilities and private apartments. It was determined that the car service located at Omer Faig Nemanzade Street 25, 20^th Area, used water illegally. The owner of the facility illegally used water by getting connection to the transmission main without obtaining technical conditions and signing a contract. A similar situation was found in the car service located in the 20th area, Elchin Azizov Street, sidestreet 2. Although the owner of the facility received technical conditions for getting connected to the network, he got a connection without informing the water supply company and used water illegally.

All detected illegal connections have been removed. It has been brought to the attention of facility and apartment owners that illegal and off-meter drinking water lines causes disruption of hydraulic regimes in networks, serious water losses, and deterioration of water supply to other subscribers living in those areas.

It should be noted that within the months of January-June 2023, 8,899 cases of illegal use of water were detected by "Azersu" Open Joint-Stock Company, and 131 of them in Sabail region, and about 100 facts were submitted to law enforcement agencies for investigation.
