In accordance with the state program on socio-economic development of the regions approved by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, the supply of drinking water to 3 villages located in the border region of Aghstafa region is being improved. The project, implemented at the expense of state investment, covers the villages of Kohnegishlaq, Tatli and Yaradullu. These villages did not have centralized drinking water supply systems so far. In the village of Kohnegishlaq, springs were used and in the villages of Tatli and Yaradullu, sub-artesian wells were used for irrigation. The population met their drinking water needs by transporting it from long distances.

According to the approved project, the water supply in Kohnegishlaq village will be provided from the existing spring, while the villages of Tatli and Yaradullu will be supplied from newly dug sub-artesian wells. Within the framework of the project, the construction of pumping stations and water reservoirs, springs for the general use of the population is planned. Currently, the construction of 5.9 km of transmission main and 38 km of network water lines is nearing completion and the construction of pumping stations and reservoirs is ongoing. It is planned to install 256 springs for general use of the population in 3 villages of Aghstafa region.

Construction and installation works are expected to be completed in the summer of 2023. Implementation of the project will provide an opportunity to improve drinking water supply for up to 4 thousand residents in 3 villages of Aghstafa region. It should be noted that drinking water projects are currently being implemented in the villages and towns of Gazakh, Tovuz and Neftchala regions in addition to Aghstafa region.
