Event held on the occasion of International Women's Day- March 8
Event on the occasion of 8th March-International Women's Day was held at "Azersu" OJSC. Congratulating the female employees of "Azersu" OJSC, Teyyub Jabbarov, First Deputy chairman of the joint-stock company, said that this holiday is celebrated in most countries of the world, including Azerbaijan.
Jabbarov, reminding that Azerbaijani women have incomparable services in the preservation and survival of our national moral values and traditions, noted that Azerbaijani women have become active participants in the national state building process. National leader of our people, Heydar Aliyev, paid attention and care to raising the role of women in society. The establishment of the State Committee on Family, Women and Children's Problems and the signing of the Decree "On the Implementation of State Women's Policy in the Republic of Azerbaijan" is a clear example of this concern. Adhering to these traditions, President Ilham Aliyev attached special importance to increasing the social and political activity of women. Women who made valuable contributions to increase the socio-economic, intellectual and cultural potential of our country have taken their rightful place in our society. Mehriban Aliyeva, First Vice-President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, has incomparable services in solving the problems faced by Azerbaijani women and their families, in the field of health protection, education and upbringing of children.
It was noted within the meeting that in modern times, a consistent and purposeful policy is being conducted in our country in the direction of ensuring gender equality. It was highly appreciated that women properly fulfill their duties and take active position in the society and it was emphasized that the great affairs performed by women in getting important achievements in the drinking water sector was emphasized.
Event ended up with presenting holiday gifts to female employees of “Azersu” OJSC.
