A meeting was held with the delegation of KOICA

   On March 18 a meeting was held with the delegation of Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) at “Azersu” OJSC. The President of the KOICA Mr. Kim met chairman of “Azersu” OJSC Gorkhmaz Huseynov to discuss the progress and outcome of the project “A Total Solution for Water Shortages on Absheron Peninsula: Construction of water and sewerage systems in Kurdakani settlement of Absheron Peninsula” funded by the Government of Azerbaijan and KOICA.
    Mr. Huseynov said that the Azerbaijani government is conducting various projects to establish water supply and sewerage system projects for the population in and around Baku. He mentioned the Azerbaijani President pays great attention to water and sewerage system, and thanked the Korean government for supporting Azerbaijan`s development strategies.
    Mr. Kim said improving water supply system in the Kurdakhani settlement will ensure the local population’s access to clean water resources, which will greatly improve the quality of their lives. He further said that if the wastewater is effectively managed in the future, it can prevent environmental pollution and significantly contribute to local population’s health conditions.
    The KOICA President said that 70% of the Kurdakhani project is completed. He wished that the project gets completed as soon as possible.

    During the conversation Mr. Kim said that related to the Kurdakhani project, the implementation of commitment was signed with Exim Bank or Export-Import Bank of Korea on March 11 under financing “Pirshagi Wastewater Treatment Plant”.
