Construction and installation works have been expanded

   “Azersu” OJSC continues to carry out Action plans in accordance with the instructions of President Ilham Aliyev on reconstruction of water supply and sewerage systems in Baku and its surrounding settlements, as well as in the regions. With this purpose in 2013 large-scale building work was carried out by “Azersu” OJSC.

   According to statistics, the most large-scale construction works were carried out in 2013 by “Azersu” OJSC since its inception in 2004. In 2013 water lines of 2062 km were laid. 1222 km section of these lines was laid in the regions. At the same time sewerage lines of 534 km (433 km in the regions) were laid. In the capital and regions 19 pumping stations including 17 water and 2 sewerage pumping stations were constructed.  In 2013, the construction and reconstruction of reservoirs increased by 2 times. During the year 56 reservoirs have been built. 28 of them are located in the regions.  15 artesian and subartesian wells were drilled, 191 thousand pre-paid smart-card water meters installed in 2013.

   In accordance with “2011-2013 State Program of Social-economic Development of Baku city and its settlements” building and reconstruction of water supply and sewerage infrastructures was continued last year. With this purpose water line of 820 km was laid, water line of 300 km was repaired. In accordance with the projects sewerage lines and collectors with total length of 200km were built. Sewerage lines of 26km were repaired.

   At the same time 220 thousand people have been supplied with drinking water in a centralized manner. The number of people that supplied on a continuing basis with drinking water increased from 900 thousand to 1 million 760 thousand in 2013.
