Water supply system in Kurdakhani under reconstruction

   “A Total Solution of Water Shortage for Absheron Peninsula:  Establishment of Water Supply and Sanitation System in Kurdakhani settlement in the Absheron Peninsula” project carried out by Azersu OJSC, and Korean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) is successfully continued.

   It should be noted that water supply system in Kurdakhani was created in 50th years. Now the system does not meet the needs of the settlement. Some parts of the settlement get drinking water from wells or buy.

   The project that was commenced in May of the last year is designed for improving water supply and sanitation systems of 30 thousand people in Kurdakhani taking into account the perspective development as of 2035.

   In accordance with the project that is carried out at the expense of 26 million grant allocated by the Government of Korean drinking water line of 90km will be laid using polyethylene pipes, more than 3600 house connections will be realized, and each house will be supplied by water meter. At the same time 417 fire-hydrants will be installed.

   A section of 19km of the drinking water line was laid and 400 house connections have been carried out. The project will finish by the 2014. 

   At the first phase the settlement will be supplied with drinking water from Jeyranbatan-Mashtaga transmission main. In the future 2Nos reservoirs with the capacity of 4000 m3 each will be constructed and these reservoirs will be fed by Jeyranbatan-Balakhani-Ramana-Gala-Pirallahi water pipeline.

  In the frame of the project a sewerage collector of 3,8km and micro tunnel of 1,4km will be constructed.

   At the same time a sewerage network of 77,3km will be created in the settlement at the expanse of the Government of Azerbaijan. The wastewater of the settlement will be discharged to Wastewater Treatment Plant that will be constructed near Pirshagi settlement.
