Introduction of pre-paid smart-card water meters is carried out regularly in the regions

    “Azersu” OJSC accelerated measures on installation of pre-paid smart-card water meters for improving the quality of services rendered to consumers, increasing the level of payment for service for water supply and wastewater, accurate accounting of sold water, eliminating debt problems and preventing water-losses.

   In January-September of the current year 128 thousand customers have been provided with pre-paid smart-card water meters. In 2012 pre-paid smart-card water meters were newly introduced and already installed at 160 000 connection points. Presently installation of smart-card water meters is continued intensively in the regions.

   Note that initially installation of smart-card water meters has begun in Baku, Absheron and Sumgait. Presently population in town centers are supplied with smart-card water meters in the frame of reconstruction projects of water supply and sanitation in the regions. Customers in Guba, Ujar, Zardab, Lankaran, Bilesuvar, Imishli, Hajigabul, Tovuz, Agstafa, and etc. were provided with pre-paid smart-card water meters.

    Installation of smart-card water meters for household customers is carried out at the expanse of the state by relevant divisions of “Azersu” OJSC and it is free of charge to any household consumer. But for non-household customers it is carried out at the expanse of consumers by the relevant division of “Azersu” OJSC.
