AzersuGIS project was awarded with highest award – “Geospatial World Application Excellence 2013”
Project of “Azersu” OJSC – “Management of underground infrastructure - Azersu GIS” was awarded another international award.
The project was awarded the first place at the International Forum of Geographic Information Systems (“Geospatial World Application Excellence 2013”) held in the Kingdom of Netherlands on May 13-16, in nomination "Management of water resources". Note that more than 80 countries presented projects at the forum.
Previously head of ICT Department Samir Ganili informed on the project: “AzersuGIS is a system designed for geographical inventory of drinking water, wastewater and stormwater systems, network analysis and modeling. When the system is commissioned, it will be able to assess design solutions and record, current status of water supply and sewerage systems and accidents occurring on the networks. At the same time, the system will allow us to manage drinking water, wastewater and stormwater infrastructures as well as construction and working sites in a centralized manner.”
After presentation the jury evaluated the projects. During the evaluation the design of the projects, the area the projects cover, innovations and benefits were taken into consideration.
Remember that in 2012 on April 13-14 AzersuGIS won a Be Inspired Award from Bentley Systems, Incorporated among 270 projects in the ‘Innovation in Water, Wastewater and Stormwater Networks’ category. Moreover, AzersuGIS was recognized as Engineering Project of the Year.
