International Water Conference held within the International Water Management Exhibition and Conference -"Baku Water Week"

Zaur Mikayilov, Chairman of the Azerbaijan State Water Resources Agency, gave a speech and delivered information about the implementation of fundamental reforms by the Agency in the direction of institutional, structural and investment management, modernization of infrastructure and the implementation of projects for the creation of new water resources.

"About 20 channels are planned to be restored in Azerbaijan. At the moment, work is about to start on 2 of them, work on the restoration of 6 is in progress, and preparatory work on 12 is about to be completed. In addition, reconstruction work is planned in 13 reservoirs. 2 of them have been restored," the head of the Agency said in his speech.

At the conference, information about the potential of using alternative water sources, measures taken and planned in the future to manage water resources effectively and in accordance with the challenges of the modern world were provided by the officials of the State Water Resources Agency of Azerbaijan.
