An event held on the occasion of the World Civil Defense Day

An event was held at Azerbaijan State Water Resources Agency "Azersu" OJSC in connection with "March 1 - World Civil Defense Day".

Speaking at the event, Jahangir Sharifov, head of the civil defense headquarters of "Azersu" OJSC, delivered the information about the purpose and vital importance of civil defense and the history of the establishment of the International Civil Defense Organization (ICDO). It was noted that by the decision of the General Assembly of the International Civil Defense Organization, March 1 is celebrated as the World Civil Defense Day since 1972. The Republic of Azerbaijan has been accepted as a member of this organization since 1993 and has been actively represented in this prestigious organization since that year. Since 1995, World Civil Defense Day is dedicated to a specific topic every year, and relevant events are held in member countries. In 2024, it was recommended that this day be held under the theme "Innovation technologies in the field of civil defense".

Later, a wide presentation of civil defense exercises in the field of prevention of emergency incidents was held.
