Cases of illegal drinking water lines have been prevented in Binagadi district

In accordance with the Action Plan for ensuring efficient use of water resources approved by President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, the State Water Resources Agency of Azerbaijan continues control measures to detect illegal drinking water supply, minimize water losses and prevent wastage.

İllegal drinking water line was detected in a non-residential building where 11 facilities operate on Sattar Bahlulzade Street, Binagadi district. Although the object has a contract and a meter, the entrepreneur interfered with the well on the transmission main and took water from the transmission main. Catering establishments, shops and service facilities located in that building used the illegally drawn line.

Cases of illegal drinking water supply were also detected in newly built private houses in the Yeni massif area of Bilajari settlement. Thus, a person engaged in the construction of private residential houses made an illegal connection to the nearby transmission main. A 500-meter long water line was built by passing the water pipeline under the railway line passing through the area. Private houses were supplied with water from the illegally built line.

All illegal lines and connections discovered during the control measures were cut and canceled.

It should be noted that in the months of January-September 2023, 14,220 cases of illegal use of water were detected by the Azerbaijan State Water Resources Agency "Azersu" Open Joint-Stock Company, and 2,733 in Binagadi district, and more than 100 facts were submitted to law enforcement agencies for investigation.
