The State Water Resources Agency of Azerbaijan continues to implement projects to improve the drinking water supply of settlements and villages and reduce water losses. In accordance with the State Program of socio-economic development of regions approved by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, a centralized drinking water network is being created in 7 villages of Hajigabul region.

The work on the first stage of the project implemented to improve drinking water supply and eliminate water losses in the villages of Hajigabul region had been completed.

Within the framework of the project implemented at the expense of internal resources, villages were provided with a new connection from the 163rd kilometer of the Oguz-Gabala-Baku transmission main, 2.4 km of main and 11 km of distribution water lines were built. From the newly established networks, 245 connections were provided to homes and meters were installed.

After the centralized water network was put into operation in the villages, springs for common use were abolished. The creation of new networks will allow the rural residents to be supplied with sustainable drinking water and will prevent water losses. At the same time, installation of meters in private houses will ensure accurate accounting. A total of 7,500 residents will benefit from the drinking water project implemented in 7 villages of Hajigabul region.
