The drinking water supply to 27 residential areas of Neftchala region is being improved

The first stage of the project implemented in Neftchala region to improve the water supply of villages and towns suffering from drinking water shortage has been completed. In accordance with the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev’s instructions, the drinking water supply to Pirabba, Ashagi Surra, Ashagi Garamanli, Astanli, Dordlar, Khilli, Ballicali, Boyat, Bala Surra, Garagashli, Shorkend, Jangan, Bestali, Arabkardashbeyli , Yenikand, Qırmızı Shafaq, Mayak 1, Mayak 2, Shirvanli, Yeni Kıshlaq, Hagverdili, Mikayilli, Qizgaitli, Dalghalı, Sarıgamish, Sahiloba villages and Banke settlement have improved within the framework of the project implemented by the Azerbaijan State Water Resources Agency in Neftchala district,. The 2 transmission mains built from the Shirvan-Mugan group water pipeline to Neftchala district in 2020 and 2023 created a favorable opportunity for drinking water supply to villages and towns in addition to the district center. At present, 18 residential areas have gained access to the newly created infrastructure, and water mains have been built. At present, the water supply of those villages is carried out through springs installed for general use.

         

90 km of drinking water lines were built in the villages and towns of Neftchala region within the framework of the implemented projects. As part of the project, up to 30,000 villagers were provided with quality and stable drinking water.

In the next stage of the project, a new water transmission main will be built from the Shirvan-Mugan group water pipeline in order to improve drinking water supply to 11 villages of Neftchala district and 6 villages of Salyan district. The bidding procedure for this project has already been completed and the construction work will be started in the near future.

It should be noted that currently the cities of Hajigabul, Shirvan, Salyan, Neftchala, Bilasuvar and 24 villages are supplied with quality drinking water from the Shirvan-Mugan group water pipeline.
