Keeping under control the quality of drinking water provided to consumers, as well as the content of discharged waste water within the framework of environmental standards, is one of the priority tasks of Azerbaijan State Water Resources Agency "Azersu" OJSC.

44545 water samples were taken from a total of 1,468 points from water reservoirs, pumping stations, water networks, educational and healthcare institutions, important state facilities and other facilities, based on the schedule agreed with the Republican Hygiene and Epidemiology Center of the Ministry of Health within January-August 2023. 263191 indicators were set for those samples.

327 analyzes on 7 water samples taken from the liberated territories were conducted last year.

At the same time, 48729 parameters of 10543 waste water samples taken from treatment facilities, industrial enterprises, city collectors and networks were studied based on the schedule agreed with the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources.

Currently, the Central Laboratory of "Azersu" OJSC analyzes 116 parameters, including 56 parameters of drinking water and 60 parameters of waste water. In general, the quality of drinking water is monitored by 11 laboratories, 9 of which are regional, and the composition of waste water is monitored by 15 laboratories.

It should be noted that the Central Laboratory of "Azersu" OJSC started operating in 2013. A year later, the laboratory received international accreditation by the State Accreditation Agency of Latvia (LATAK) and joined various competency testing programs in the past.
