Urgent measures to create drinking and waste water systems in the city of Fuzuli have been taken

According to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev’s instructions, urgent measures were taken to create drinking and waste water systems in the city of Fuzuli. Until the project of creating drinking and waste water systems of Fuzuli city is implemented, the Azerbaijan State Water Resources Agency implemented a project in order to provide drinking water to the population living here, as well as buildings and facilities belonging to the public and private sector. According to the information provided by the Coordinating Headquarters established for the centralized solution of issues in the liberated territories of the Republic of Azerbaijan, an Urgent Action Plan had been prepared to provide the city of Fuzuli with drinking water. According to the plan, it was decided to use the existing facilities until new drinking water supply systems are created in the city of Fuzuli. For this purpose, the drainage systems built in the course of Guruchay in the 1980s and rendered useless during the occupation were restored and returned to operation. At the same time, 2 water collecting reservoirs with a total capacity of 100 cubic meters and a pumping station were built at the water source. A transmission main with a diameter of 630 mm was built from the water source to the city of Fuzuli. The transmission main is connected to the distribution network of the Fuzuli residential complex, which is currently under construction, and water supply to the buildings is ensured. As an urgent measure, 4 modular treatment facilities were installed in order to clean and dispose of the waste water formed in the complex. In these facilities, 600 cubic meters of wastewater will be treated and removed per day.

In addition to urgent measures, the implementation of the project for the creation of drinking water supply, sewage and rainwater systems of the city of Fuzuli is in progress. The infrastructure, which was founded by President Ilham Aliyev on May 5, 2023, is designed to meet the needs of 50,000 people in the city of Fuzuli, taking into account the perspective development until 2040.
