Cases of illegal drinking water supply have been prevented in Sabunchu district

The State Water Resources Agency of Azerbaijan continues comprehensive measures to detect illegal drinking water supply, minimize water losses and prevent wastage, in accordance with the Action Plan for ensuring efficient use of water resources approved by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev.

An illegal water line was built via a 63 mm diameter pipe without obtaining technical conditions and without signing a contract to supply water to the courtyard houses being built by people engaged in the construction of individual residential houses in the area called "Sudchuluk state farm" in Sabunchu district, Mohammadi settlement. In addition, the construction manager, who did not give up his illegal act, supplied water to the houses under construction by installing 4 distribution collectors. The arbitrarily built water line was cut and canceled using special equipment brought to the area. During the control measures, the fact of illegal water supply was also discovered in the production workshop of iron doors located on the Sabunchu-Zabrat road.

As the State Water Resources Agency of Azerbaijan, we once again bring to the attention of citizens that the illegal and off-meter supply of drinking water causes the violation of hydraulic regimes in networks, serious water losses, and the deterioration of water supply to other subscribers living in those areas.

It should be noted that within the months of January-June 2023, 8,899 cases of illegal use of water were detected by "Azersu" Open Joint-Stock Company, and 2,471 of them in Sabunchu district, and about 100 facts were submitted to law enforcement agencies for investigation.
