Media representatives’ visit to Shusha was organized in order to get acquainted with the work done in the direction of restoration and reconstruction of drinking water supply systems of Shusha city. During the visit, the journalists visited the newly commissioned water collection dam and pumping station on the course of the Zarisli River and observed the construction process of new water reservoirs in Shusha.

During the visit, the media representatives were provided with an extensive information about the restoration and reconstruction of drinking water supply in Shusha city. It was reported that shortly after the liberation of Shusha from the occupation, a group of specialists of "Azersu" OJSC investigated the state of water sources, main lines, reservoirs and distribution networks by the order of the head of state. It turned out when the enemy left the city, they destroyed the transmission mains that supply Shusha with drinking water.

It was decided to create an alternative source, taking into account the prospective development of the city of Shusha, as well as the fact that the Small Kirs and Zarisli sources will not meet the demand at certain times of the year. According to the project, a water collecting dam with a capacity of 25,000 cubic meters was built near the village of Dashalti, Shusha region, in the bed of the Zarysli River. Parallel to the construction of the dam in front of the river in the complex terrain, a modern high-pressure pumping station and a 2.6 km long pipeline with steel pipes were built to transport the water collected here to the city. At the pumping station, 4 units, each of which has a capacity of 105 cubic meters per hour, have been installed. The water taken from the dam is transported to the reservoirs located in the city of Shusha by means of pumps with a pressure of 26-27 atmospheres, and from there it is transferred to the network in self-flow mode. With this, facilities in the city, hotels and other catering establishments, residential houses and administrative buildings of state institutions are provided with drinking water 24 hours a day.

Currently, "Azersu" OJSC provides non-stop service in Shusha city. Service brigades operate in order to promptly solve problems that may arise in sources, main pipelines and intra-city distribution networks.
