Employees of the "Absheron Sukanal" Office were threatened with firearm in 28 May settlement

Despite the awareness and propaganda work carried out by “Azersu” OJSC on the efficient use of drinking water, prevention of water waste and payment of service fees, some subscribers do not follow the rules of efficient use of water. In some cases, subscribers who ignore the recommendations given by the employees of “Azersu” OJSC are rude to the employees performing their duties, subjecting them to physical pressure. A subscriber in 28 May settlement threatened employees of the "Absheron Sukanal" Office with a firearm.

Employees of the "Absheron Sukanal" Office saw that the water tank in the yard of a private house belonging to Zulfugar Mehdiyev was overflowing and wasted on the Parallels Street in 28 May settlement, while the landlord did not react. Employees, who asked the landlord to take measures to prevent water wastage,  faced rude manners and insults by a citizen when they tried to inspect the water supply system of a private house. Then Z.Mehdiyev threatened the employees of "Absheron Sukanal" Office with a firearm (hunting rifle), then appealed to the law enforcement agencies and gave false information about the pressure by the employees of "Azersu" OJSC.

"Absheron Sukanal" Office has officially appealed to law enforcement agencies in connection with the incident. Police officers who arrived in the area invited Z. Mehdiyev and employees of the "Absheron Sukanal" Office to the police station for investigation.

“Azersu” OJSC informs citizens and subscribers that global climate change has led to a decrease in the country's freshwater resources and in such circumstances, wasteful use of water is unacceptable. In this regard, “Azersu” OJSC regularly conducts awareness-raising activities, requires subscribers to eliminate leaks in individual water lines and tanks and takes serious measures against unregistered and off-meter use.

In order to prevent water wastage, subscribers should understand the warnings and recommendations, and should not be rude to employees of “Azersu” OJSC. Any insult or pressure against employees in the performance of their duties is unacceptable and if such cases occur, law enforcement agencies will be contacted.
