Meeting of the working group on the establishment of the drinking, waste and rain water systems held in Aghdam

A meeting of the working group set up to prepare a feasibility study and preliminary design documents for the establishment of drinking water supply, sewerage and rainwater management systems in the liberated city of Aghdam was held. The meeting, which took place in Aghdam, was attended by employees and specialists of “Azersu” OJSC and other government agencies included in the working group.

The meeting was informed about the urgent work done to restore the drinking water supply in the Aghdam region. It was noted that after the liberation of Aghdam region, urgent work was carried out to provide settlements with drinking water. As part of the construction project of the Monitoring Center in Aghdam region, drinking and waste water lines were laid, a reservoir, pumping station, infiltration and septic facilities were built. Drilling of a new sub-artesian well has started in Khidirli village of Aghdam region. Transmission main and distribution water lines were built from the well area.

A presentation was held on promising projects for the reconstruction of drinking water and wastewater systems in the city of Aghdam, the application of innovative technologies in this area and environmental impact assessment. It was noted that the population's demand for drinking water, industrial and tourism opportunities will be taken into account when preparing a drinking water project in Aghdam. To provide the city of Aghdam and 4 villages with sustainable and quality drinking water, comprehensive research will be conducted. At the initial stage, two exploration wells were drilled to supply water to the city from underground sources and research is underway.

Discussions on the establishment of drinking water supply, wastewater and rainwater management networks in the city of Aghdam and the application of smart and innovative technologies in this area were held within the meeting.
