Elections to the Public Council under “Azersu” OJSC were held on May 25, 2021. The election process was broadcast live on the Facebook page of “Azersu” OJSC.
16 representatives of civil society institutions were registered as candidates in the elections to the Public Council under “Azersu” OJSC. However, one day before the elections, chairman of the International Public Research Public Union “Economics”, Yusifov Fikret Huseyn oglu, withdrew his candidacy.
Thus, 15 representatives of civil society institutions registered as candidates ran in the elections. 66 voters representing civil society institutions took part in the elections. All ballots out of the box were checked by the members of the Election Commission and all 66 ballots were considered valid.
Two candidates- Jafarova Matanat Asgar kizi, Chairman of the PU “Support to Soldier Families” and Rauf Zeyni Khurshud oghlu, President of the National NGO Forum were elected members of the Public Council under “Azersu” OJSC by the decision of the Election Commission with more than 50 percent of votes. The other 13 candidates will run in the by-elections because due to lack of votes.
According to the decision of the Election Commission, the second round of elections will take place on May 27, 2021 from 10 am to 03 pm in the administrative building of “Azersu” OJSC (67 Moscow Avenue).
