An online meeting on modern problems of the water sector was held between “Azersu” OJSC and the Water Sciences Laboratory of the University of Nebraska. The meeting was attended by specialists from “Azersu” OJSC, the Central Laboratory and the Research and Design Institute “Sukanal”.

During the meeting, the problems in the water sector as a result of climate change were discussed. It was noted that in many countries around the world, people suffer from drought and water shortages. Therefore, government agencies, national and international organizations and companies involved in the exploitation of water resources must look for solutions to meet the growing demand for water in the world.

Taking into account the creation of sustainable drinking water systems in Azerbaijan and meeting the needs of the population for drinking water, the next meeting is planned to discuss the projects to be implemented in our country.

It should be noted that one of the main activities of the University of Nebraska is to promote the development of new water researchers through training programs, professional development, internships and scholarships, to train water researchers and engineers. Taking all this into account, it is considered expedient to involve other scientific institutions, including universities, in this project and for this purpose, negotiations were held with Baku State University.
