In accordance with the State Program for Socio-Economic Development of the Regions approved by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, “Azersu” OJSC continues to implement projects to improve the supply of drinking water to the rural population in the regions. The project, which covers Leyti, Lajadi, Galagah, Dag Bilici, Zohrami, Mumlu, Pirabadil, Sumaghava, Sumaghava Gazma settlements of Shabran region, will solve the drinking water problem of more than 3,000 residents.

According to the project, drinking water will be supplied to the villages from the Shollar-Baku water pipeline. To ensure optimal water distribution, 5 reservoirs with a capacity of 100-300 cubic meters each are being built in the villages. 28 km of transmission mains of different diameters have been laid to transfer the water to be delivered to the reservoirs by two-stage pumps to the distribution networks.

The project creates a centralized network in each of the 9 villages and for this purpose it is planned to build a 38 km line. At the same time, 965 houses in the villages will be connected and meters will be installed. Currently, construction and metering work is being carried out in reservoirs and network lines. The work is expected to be completed in June this year and the villages will be supplied with water.

It should be noted that, there were no centralized drinking water supply systems in Leyti, Lajadi, Galagah, Dag Bilici, Zohrami, Mumlu, Pirabadil, Sumaghava, Sumaghava Gazma villages of Shabran region. Residents of some villages met their drinking water needs using the Khirmi spring near the village of Dag Bilici. However, in recent years, the needs of the villages had not been fully met due to the decline in spring productivity. Therefore, residents had to carry drinking water over long distances or by buying from trucks.
