A meeting with the Turkish delegation held at “Azersu” OJSC

A meeting with a delegation led by Mustafa Uzun, Deputy Director General of the Water Resources Management Department of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry of the Republic of Turkey and Secretary General of the Water Council was held at “Azersu” OJSC. Deputy Chairman of “Azersu” OJSC Kocharli Hasanov greeted the guests and informed them about the activities of the Company. He noted that cooperation with international financial institutions and foreign companies is carried out in the implementation of projects. K. Hasanov delivered the information about the measures taken in accordance with the "Action Plan for 2020-2022 to ensure the efficient use of water resources" approved by President Ilham Aliyev. It was noted that climate change and declining water resources make it necessary to save and use water efficiently and the application of best practices in this area is important.

Mustafa Uzun, Deputy Director General of the Water Resources Management Department of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry of the Republic of Turkey, Secretary General of the Water Council, briefed on the activities of the organization he represents. He noted that the main task is to ensure the protection and sustainable use of water resources, improve the legislative framework in this area, coordinate national and international management of water resources. Protecting and developing the country's water resources in terms of quantity and quality is one of the main directions of the policy pursued in the water sector.

The sides exchanged views on the current situation in the field of efficient use of water resources, expansion of cooperation in this field and other issues of mutual interest.
