“Azersu” OJSC continues to implement drinking water supply and wastewater projects in the regions in accordance with the State Program on Socio-Economic Development of the Regions of the Republic of Azerbaijan. In Shirvan, one of the industrial cities of the republic, it is important to provide consumers with quality drinking water and improve sewerage services.

The work done within the implementation of the drinking water and sewerage project in Shirvan and the perspective tasks were discussed in detail during the presentation held at the Shirvan City Executive Power. The event was attended by Deputy Chairman of “Azersu” Etibar Mammadov, Head of Shirvan City Executive Power Ilgar Abbasov, Shirvan MP Iltizam Yusifov and representatives of the contractor company.

During the presentation of the project on reconstruction of drinking and wastewater systems in Shirvan, it was noted that reconstruction work was launched after the supply of drinking water to the city of Shirvan from the Shirvan-Mugan group water pipeline with President Ilham Aliyev’s participation in 2013. According to the approved project, in 2021, 7 km of drinking water and sewerage network in Shirvan, in total, more than 100 km of drinking water, 11 km of wastewater network were renewed, about 12,000 addresses were connected to the network and meters were installed. Reconstruction of the internal systems of multi-storey residential buildings in the city has allowed to realize uninterrupted water supply.

As a result of the new connections from the Shirvan-Mugan group water pipeline, the drinking water supply of Chilpagli and Yeni residential areas, as well as the city's neighborhoods located in altitude had been improved within the past period.

The construction of drinking water and sewerage networks in Shirvan will continue in the coming years. According to the perspective project, a total of 257 km of drinking water and 228 km of wastewater networks are planned to be built in Shirvan. At the same time, 4 reservoirs with a total capacity of 19,000 cubic meters will be built to provide the city with sustainable water. To discharge wastewater generated in the city of Shirvan, the project envisages the construction of a wastewater treatment plant. The wastewater generated in Hajigabul will be treated and neutralized with this facility too.
