The capital of the Republic of Hungary, Budapest, is hosting the “Planet Budapest 2021” Exhibition and Summit dedicated to sustainability in Central Europe. The event was attended by heads of state and governments of more than 30 countries, as well as representatives of the UN, the International Monetary Fund, the World Health Organization, the League of Arab States, the Economic Cooperation Organization, the UN Development Program, the World Meteorological Organization. Representatives of “Azersu” OJSC also attended the event.
Discussions on changes in the environmental situation in the modern world, increasing demand for water, people's shortage of clean water, smart cities, sustainable water supply, wastewater management, the impact of the pandemic on sustainable development, energy and transport issues, problems and their solutions took place in the event. There was an extensive exchange of views on topical issues and an action plan for the coming years was developed.
During the visit, meetings were held with representatives of the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Republic of Hungary, directors of "Budapest Water Affairs", "Hungarian Water Group" and other companies, discussed issues of cooperation in the water sector. The issues of signing a memorandum of cooperation were touched upon.
